Values
Our mission is to support vulnerable and at-risk families of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by empowering them as a whole family unit. We are committed to reducing social isolation, financial hardship, and inequality by providing inclusive services that respond to the real challenges SEN families face.
We equip both parents and young people with practical tools to develop income-generating skills, access education and training opportunities, and build confidence and independence. Through inclusive activities, learning experiences, and community support, we create safe spaces where families can participate fully in social life without fear of restriction, exclusion, or stigma.
As a unique, community-led organisation, we work to break cycles of poverty and isolation by strengthening families, fostering resilience, and building supportive networks that enable SEN families to thrive.
Its Unique Families envisions a fair and inclusive society in which families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) are socially included, economically resilient, and able to access equal opportunities. We aim to see reduced inequality, improved wellbeing, and stronger community participation among vulnerable SEN families, with long-term pathways out of social isolation and poverty.
Our vision is for sustainable change — where families are empowered with the skills, confidence, and support networks needed to thrive independently, contribute to their communities, and achieve lasting positive outcomes.

Guided by equity, we work to reduce inequality by addressing social isolation, financial hardship, and the barriers faced by vulnerable SEN families.
